Viagem a Portugal | Journey to Portugal

White and yellow vintage room decorated by the inspiring energy of José Saramago (Nobel Laureate). He makes this a truly unconventional travelogue, yet as soulful as a book about our homeland can be, the room follows the same feeling: intense yet uplifting. This is one of the 2 double rooms in Casa aOrta 1. Note that when you book a double room this or the room "O Vale da Paixão/The Painter of Birds" can be attributed to your reservation. The room has one double bed with 150 cm x 200 cm. Part of Casa aOrta 1 (there are 3 other rooms for rent in the house). Casa aOrta is about 5-10 minutes walking from downtown area. Permit Number: 184/AL

JOURNEY TO PORTUGAL, JOSÉ SARAMAGO

«The journey never ends. Only travelers end. And even these can go on in memory, in remembrance, in narrative. When the visitor sat on the beach and said: “There is nothing more to see”, know that it was not so. The end of one journey is just the beginning of another. It is necessary to see what has not been seen, to see once again what has been seen already, to see in the spring what is seen in the summer, to see at day what has been seen at night, with the sun where the rain first fell, see the green harvest, the ripe fruit, the stone that moved its place, the shadow that was not here. It is necessary to go back to the steps that have been taken, to repeat and to trace new paths beside them. It is necessary to restart the journey. Always.»

Our stay was amazing. Just perfect. Already planning our next trip, Lília and Olga have everything ready for your arrival. The house is perfect, clean, modern, big enough for all the costumers. They have a big roof terrace where you can chill night or day. Also you can borrow some parasols for the beach which was really great! They are lovely, kind and really helpful when it comes to needing something!
